As inconceivable as it may seem, what if Aaron Rodgers truly does give the Packers a better chance of winning the Super Bowl over Brett Favre? If that is the case, I could better understand (though still not completely understand) the Packers position in this entire debaucle.

<< <i>Well, whatever happens will be in sports pages everywhere until resolution. Not a Packer fan, wish it would just go away, sure seems unfair to Rodgers though. >>
...to quote someone a lot smarter than me, I'm sure.........Life isn't fair.
Hard to believe Rodgers would be better than the "second most valuable player" in the league. Inconceivable is the right word Jack.

Agreed. Hopefully it all works out well for him.
I suspect that his body has not suffered major abuse (injuries and general pounding) during the past three years and that he has learned alot being a back up. Whether that translates into him being a QB who can lead the Packers as a starter remains to be seen.
Compare what has happened to Rogers with what has happened to the # 1 QB taken that year, Alex Smith of the 49rs. He was immediately given the helm and for the past three years has been put through a meat grinder with three separate offensive coordinators, an offensive line that can't protect him, a medicore running game and a lack of receivers who can run and catch the ball. The result for Smith is a physical pounding, shoulder injury, strained relations with his head coach and fans wanting him cut from the team.
I wonder which of the two quarterbacks will have a better overall career in the end?
